As a Helper, you will play a pivotal role in assisting with a variety of tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. **Key Responsibilities:**
- Assist electricians with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Help with testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices.
- Support the installation of electrical apparatus, fixtures, and equipment for alarm and other systems.
- Collaborate in the installation of safety and distribution components like switches, resistors, and circuit-breaker panels.
- Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards.
- Assist in preparing the work area, including cleaning and setting up equipment and materials.
- Carry out routine tasks under the supervision of experienced electricians to ensure efficient workflow and task completion.
- Contribute to troubleshooting electrical issues and perform basic repairs.
- Engage in continuous learning and training to improve skills and knowledge in the electrical trade.
**Qualifications:**
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and components is preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools commonly used in the electrical trade.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and regulations.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced electricians.
- High school diploma or equivalent is desirable.
- OSHA10 or OSHA30 Certified
**Work Environment:**
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, depending on the job site.
- Helpers may be exposed to varying weather conditions and physically demanding tasks.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, and safety training will be provided.
