Do you have a background and strong interest in managing various construction projects? In this role, you are responsible for directing and coordinating a team of service providers for construction projects. As a Construction Project Manager, you manage capital improvement, renovation, and repair projects primarily for the General Services Department.

About this Position
- Manage various construction projects with Sarasota County (initiate, plan, execute, administration and control, close).
- Ensure projects are managed to Time, Cost, and Scope.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, internal staff, and owner to ensure appropriate construction documents are prepared and compliant with all regulatory requirements, industry standards, building codes, and Sarasota County Requirements.
- Interacts with customers and consultants to address questions, relieve concerns, and resolve complaints.
- Prepare technical bid documents, schedules, and correspondence for construction projects.
- Review all purchasing activities including the submittal of purchase requisitions.
- Manage the alignment of contracted services ensuring the fulfillment of contractual project requirements.
- Negotiates contract scope, budget, and schedule with selected consultants.
- Conducts daily on-site facility inspections to assess construction progress and needs.
- Ensure job site safety and environmental compliance.
- Supervise and manage all contract requirements, including applications for payments, schedules, budgets, construction documents, project submittals, drawings, and reports.
- Ensure all punch-list items are complete, lien waivers and a certificate of occupancy have been obtained.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of projects (plans, schedules, status reports, etc) and use this information to track and report projects.
- Prepare and present routine reports and updates on project progress, budget, and any issues or delays.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
About You
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Project Management, or a related field and three (3) years of related professional experience.
- -OR- Master's degree in a related field and two (2) years of required experience.
- -OR- Project experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis depending on the type of experience.
- Valid Florida driver's license at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP certification.
- Formal training and experience with Project Management Institute and Project Management tools.
- Proficiency in project management software such as; eBuilder, Trimble, or similar construction workflow management, Adobe Pro, Bluebeam, and/or similar tools for creating, editing, marking up, collaborating, and sharing pdf software.
CJIS Clearance: **The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as a part of the hiring process.
