Position: Java Lead/Architect

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid) (Only Locals)

Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Key skills: Should be strong in Java backend with Spring boot, Front-end with React, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, NoSQL, and good to have AI/ML concepts knowledge.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the overall architecture for scalable, secure, and high-performance Java-based enterprise applications leveraging Spring Boot and modern front-end technologies like React.js.
  • Lead the design and governance of microservices architecture, ensuring system robustness, scalability, fault tolerance, and maintainability across distributed systems.
  • Establish architectural guidelines, standards, and best practices for development teams to ensure consistent code quality and design coherence.
  • Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Architect cloud-native solutions using AWS services, optimizing for cost, performance, security, and resilience.
  • Oversee integration strategies for RESTful APIs and asynchronous, event-driven communication across microservices.
  • Drive decisions on containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) strategies to streamline deployments and improve scalability.
  • Mentor and guide development teams on design patterns, coding standards, and technology adoption to align with architectural vision.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, especially AI/ML, and evaluate their potential integration into existing and future systems.
  • Lead architectural reviews, proof-of-concepts, and technical risk assessments.
  • Define CI/CD pipeline frameworks to enable automated, reliable, and rapid software delivery.
  • Ensure systems comply with security policies, regulatory standards, and operational best practices.

Required Skills:

  • Strong expertise in Java (8+) and Spring Boot framework with a track record of architecting large-scale enterprise applications.
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture principles, distributed systems, and domain-driven design.
  • Experience designing front-end integration strategies involving React.js, Redux, and related technologies.
  • Solid experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and services including compute, storage, serverless components, and API management.
  • Expertise in API design (REST/GraphQL), asynchronous messaging, and event-driven systems.
  • Strong knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
  • Proven experience establishing and managing CI/CD pipelines in complex environments.
  • Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and performance tuning.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Good to Have:

  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts and experience integrating AI services (OpenAI, AWS AI Services, TensorFlow Lite).
  • Experience with automated testing strategies and frameworks.
  • Agile/Scrum experience with modern version control tools (Git).
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and cloud governance policies.
