Summary

The CAD Designer plans and performs the design of a variety of products including layout, assembly and detail drawings of complete products using CAD equipment for the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and design of new processes for new and/or revised sprinkler assemblies
  • Supports Manufacturing Engineering regarding designs, drawing packages, and process improvements, new and/or modified tooling and fixtures
  • Provides liaison support between Product Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering when needed
  • Responsible for tool layouts regarding all sprinklers being machined
  • Provides engineering support regarding the design and modification of machine tools used to machine fire protection sprinklers and valves
  • Provides complete drawing packages and support to the Tool Room for manufacture of fixtures and tooling
  • Researches new components and methods to enhance assembly of sprinklers and valves for each process
  • Trains personnel for proper use, safety, and function of new or modified fixtures and tooling
  • Provides design support to the Manufacturing Engineering Lab for assembly of new and/or modified equipment
  • Provides support for safety within the facility by designing and manufacturing covers or fixtures that ensure safety for the operators
  • Develops and designs new processes or gaging used to verify or qualify a given component
  • Responsible for providing complete drawing packages and support to the Quality Control area
  • Promote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Maintain vigilance for any hazardous conditions or practices in the workplace and immediately report any unsafe condition or practice to your supervisor
  • Performs other duties as directed

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Drafting, Engineering, or relate field
  • 2 + years of CAD Design Experience
