Summary

The Project Estimator will be responsible for deciding the projected time frame needed to complete a project and additional factors like labor needs, materials, budgets and potential setback.

Areas of responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Estimating

  • Verify accuracy / completeness of takeoffs
  • Perform takeoffs as needed

Bill of Material Generation

  • Generate ordering quantities for fabrication and distribution items
  • Enter and generate cost workups
  • Enter and generate quotes as needed

Reporting/Scheduling

  • Confirm fabrication schedule with Fab Supervisor
  • Manage/coordinate priorities with fabrication
  • Manage/coordinate priorities with vendors
  • Confirm delivery schedule with vendors
  • Manage/Coordinate deliveries with warehouse supervisor
  • Attend and update the Project Team meetings weekly

Customer interaction

  • Attend meetings at site as needed
  • Manage/update all required documentation to various customer personnel as needed
  • Submit all RFI’s and distribute

Education, Skills, Experience, and Knowledge

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) with advanced skill in Excel
  • Proficient in mathematics, statistics and data analysis
  • Excellent analytical and time management skills
  • Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects

Office environment

Physical demands may include but are not limited to:

Moderate walking, standing, and/or climbing; light lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
