Pre-Apprentice Mechanical Maintenance Trainee

Quad is currently seeking candidates for our Pre-Apprentice Mechanical Maintenance Trainee program. Career paths begin in one of our Wisconsin locations and provides a glimpse into a world class maintenance environment, while completing related classes.

Wisconsin locations include: Sussex

Mechanical Maintenance Trainees receive a hands on experience working in the Industrial Trades. They will assist skilled maintenance personnel in the service and repair, installation, operation, modification, of equipment throughout our advanced manufacturing facilities. Our training program includes exposure to Safe work practices Troubleshooting, Repairing and installing Mechanical systems. Additional areas of learning include; Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Predictive Maintenance, Welding, Machine tool operation and more.

Trainees can receive regular wage increases at performance milestones and are given a firsthand look at a variety of industrial career paths within the company.

Trainees are eligible to apply for Quads Registered Maintenance Mechanic Apprentice Program. Trainee hours and school credits apply towards our apprenticeship programs.

While in the plant, Quad's mechanic apprentice will be responsible for the following:

• Working a 12-hour shift. Days, nights, and weekends. Flexibility if hours is required to be worked around school schedule.
• Assisting with the servicing, troubleshooting, and installation of production and automated support equipment.
• Completing rotations through various maintenance departments: Equipment Maintenance, Quad Metal Works, Predictive, and Rebuild divisions.

Required Qualifications:

Successful candidates must be able to perform the following: lift 10-15 pounds continuously, lift up to 70 pounds occasionally, receive and follow instructions, and use vision in order to identify defects with or without reasonable accommodation. Good verbal and written comprehension, the ability to thrive in a team environment, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.

• Proficient in basic mechanical repair
• Ability to use a personal computer

Preferred Qualifications:

• Enrolled in or completed an Industrial Maintenance-related Technician Program
• Experience in an Industrial manufacturing environment is a plus
