Minkoff is looking for a Mobile Building Engineer who will be responsible for many aspects of the management and operations for part of its portfolio. The qualified candidate will have a great work ethic with the capability to work as part of a larger team while under minimal supervision and complete all projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Must be self-motivated to accomplish work promptly and skillfully without supervision;
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies and Company directives related to building operations and work safety;
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, correspondence and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding;
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from tenants and to effectively present information back to tenants, co-workers and supervisors;
  • Have a firm understanding of processes and procedures and how errors in judgment may cause impact to co-workers, tenants, or the buildings;
  • Perform assigned repairs, emergency and preventative maintenance;
  • Review assigned work orders and estimate time and materials to complete repair;
  • Oversees work performed by outside contractors;
  • Ability to respond to emergency calls after hours;
  • Complete property inspections;
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural blueprints;
  • Performs light carpentry, furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed;
  • Working knowledge of elevator, electrical, plumbing, energy management, mechanical as well as life safety systems;
  • Monitor operations, adjust, and maintain Building Systems including heating and air conditioning equipment, water heaters; pumps, valves, piping and filters;
  • Upkeep and maintenance of common areas (inside and outside);
  • Certification in one or more of the following is preferred: electrical, mechanical (CFC included), and process controls.

Job Requirements:

  • High School graduate or G.E.D. required;
  • Indoor and outdoor work is normal. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds;
  • Lifting, climbing, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting and carrying are common throughout the workday;
  • Valid driver license and auto insurance are required;
  • Available to work in and around the Washington Metropolitan Area
  • Ability to obtain government security clearance (U.S. citizen with a clean record)
