Assistant Project Manager/Estimator

Job Description

Join our team as an Assistant Project Manager/Estimator in Chesapeake, VA, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting growing operations. This position focuses on preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects with an emphasis on cost analysis, bid preparation, and subcontractor coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Conduct thorough cost analysis to ensure project feasibility.
  • Prepare competitive bids to secure new projects.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of construction documentation and cost structures.
  • Utilize estimating software to streamline processes.
  • Manage change orders and requests for information (RFIs).
  • Oversee demolition processes and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Essential Skills
  • At least 5 years of experience in the construction industry as a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, or Estimator.
  • Proficiency in estimation and construction management.
  • Strong project coordination skills.
  • Experience with construction estimating and demolition.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam and estimating software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation and cost structures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Work Environment
  • The role involves both office work and on-site visits as needed, with typical hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $105000.00/hr.
