The City of Peoria's Water Services Department has an exciting opportunity for a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Project Manager I that will work in the Water Services Planning and Engineering Division on water and wastewater capital and/or operating budget funded projects. The position will work in a fun and rewarding culture alongside a talented group of professional engineers and project managers. Customer service and relationship building skills are highly valued assets as the position must build positive relationships with internal client departments, engineering consultants, and highly qualified general contractors and subcontractors. This position is supervised by an Arizona-licensed Civil Engineer, enabling credit toward professional licensure.

The ideal candidate for this position wil l:

  • Be a results-oriented people person.
  • Be familiar with reading, comprehending, and technical reviews of construction plans.
  • Have exposure to design and/or construction proposals, Gantt style construction schedules, and construction cost estimates.
  • Have experience with coordinating, monitoring, or managing the progress of design and/or construction projects.
  • Have exposure to the sequence of construction activities on an active construction site.
  • Possess a competency in financial record keeping and analysis (of fee proposals, cost estimates, project budgets, pay applications and change orders).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Experience: Minimum of one-year related experience. Requires a working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment and procedures

Or

  • Education: Associates degree in related field
  • Experience: Minimum of three years related experience. Requires a working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment and procedures;

Or

  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid AZ Drivers License upon hire.

Preferred/Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in a municipal or government setting.
