The Senior Infrastructure and Networking Architect is responsible for the strategic visualization, concept-to-design, engineering, support and maintenance for Dole Packaged Foods, LLC business units including North America and Europe. This is both a thought leadership position which will collaborate tightly with a Network Operations Supervisor that will report to this role along with other leaders in the Digital Technologies team along with 3rd party vendors and business partners globally.

Dole Packaged Foods Infrastructure, Networking, Operations, Telephony and Service Desk span five locations throughout North America and Europe. Our applications and infrastructure are underpinned with leading edge technologies, and we continue to advance our footprint through the implementation and use of these emerging technologies which are incorporated into our roadmap.

This role can be based as a hybrid position at our Westlake Village CA office or remotely in any of the following eligible locations: AR, AZ, CA, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KY, MA, ME, MI, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, RI, TN, TX, UT, WI .

Responsibilities Primary Accountabilities:
  • Architect/oversee infrastructure and network architecture designs and upgrade paths.
  • The administration and installation of network gear (Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Internet, MPLS/Broadband/Wi-Fi/LAN/WAN) insuring a good performing, maximumly secure and compliant foundation.
  • Direct line of contact with 3rd party telecommunications providers and the relationship management with these 3rd parties.
  • Collaboration with the Infrastructure Engineers regarding: Windows Server infrastructure, Server Hardware/Software, Virtualization, Active Directory, File Servers, Print Servers, application servers and MDF/IDF operations including HVAC, UPS, Fire Suppression, Design, etc.
  • Development of strategies and roadmaps relating to network systems solutions for both on-premise company locations as well as cloud hosting hyper-scalers (AWS, Azure, etc.) including current and emerging technologies.
  • The translation of business requirements into network and process designs.
  • Implementation and support of network monitoring software leveraging Doles investment in Solarwinds and ensuring high availability and resiliency through proactive planning and oversight.
  • Collaboration with Infrastructure Engineers, Applications and Integration teammates, Service Desk personnel, business process and engineering resources in the design, implementation and ongoing support of shop floor technology including PLCs, Refrigeration Systems, MES platforms, Ruggedized Panels, Security Systems, Time & Attendance systems and hardware, VMUs and hand-held devices.
  • Go to resource for the most complex issues relating to infrastructure and networking.
  • A supervisor, mentor and coach to the Network Operations Supervisor along with other junior technologists within the Global Digital Technologies team.
  • The ability to visualize, describe and present complex technologies into laymans terms for leadership, business partners, 3rd parties as well as other team members.

Qualifications Experience, Knowledge, & Skills You Bring:
  • A minimum of ten (10) years experience with IT Networking and Infrastructure, ideally with extensive experience in manufacturing and warehousing environments.
  • Experience with the implementation of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) routing and experience with SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network) a plus.
  • Experience with IT Service Management practices, tools, processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Excellent knowledge in most aspects of IT networking, infrastructure, security, data centers, data protection, storage and hyperconverged systems.
  • Good working knowledge of ITIL Process Frameworks. COBIT 5 and/or ITIL Certifications a plus.
  • Experience with interfacing, managing, or partnering with manufacturing sites, their specialized platforms (e.g. MES, Rockwell Automation, PI Data Historian), and/or manufacturing IT architecture highly desirable.
  • Ability to develop documented processes as needed for networking, infrastructure, security, operations, data centers, data protection and storage.
  • Proven success in working as part of a high-performance technology team, collaborating with 3rd party vendors and interfacing seamlessly with business partners.
  • Experience with IT Security protocols and best practices.
  • Highly motivated and committed to seeing problems through to resolution even beyond normal working hours.

Education & Certification:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Masters degree in Computer Science/Information Systems, Engineering and/or MBA a plus.
  • Cisco Certifications: CCT, CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, CCDE and CCAr highly desirable.
  • Microsoft Windows MCSE certifications (Server Infrastructure and Communication) nice to have.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit and use the computer for extended periods of time; ability to answer phones and use a variety of office equipment; ability to lift 15 pounds and reach overhead.
Travel Requirements:
  • Up to 25% of travel expected, domestic and international.

FOR JOBS BASED IN CALIFORNIA:

Hiring Pay Scale: $130,000 to $150,000
