Job Overview The Lead Certified Pool Operator is responsible for overseeing the general operations and maintenance of services at MCB Camp Pendleton Training Tanks Services contract. Ensures that all training tanks are operated safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with local and federal regulations. Hourly Wage: $45.00 (SCA) Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Perform maintenance, repair, replacement, and modernization of a variety of hot water heating systems, including chemical feeders, filtration systems, water treatment equipment, electrical systems, level controls, and water systems to maintain regulated chemical balance and required water temperatures. Resolve equipment malfunctions by evaluating performance breakdowns, identifying root causes, performing safe and effective repairs, and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurring failures. Respond to facility issues and emergencies, including water quality or equipment failures. Coordinate with military personnel, contractors, and vendors to support operational needs. Ensure all personnel receive bloodborne pathogen training and are enrolled in the local bloodborne pathogen program as appropriate. Provide Hazard Communication training and ensure safe storage practices for training tank chemicals in accordance with NAVMED 5010-4, 29 CFR 1910.1200, and OPNAVINST 5100.23 (Occupational Safety and Health Manual). Perform all work-related duties as assigned. Accountable For: Accuracy and timeliness in processing material requests within own department. Using PPE when required Timely, cost-effective performance of duties Working closely and harmoniously with fellow workers Adherence to all Safety rules and regulations Job Requirements Mandatory: Six (6) years Training Tank experience required. Must have a certificate recommended from NAVMED P-5010-4 with an accredited instructor through National Swimming Pool Foundation. High School Diploma or equivalent. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Must possess and maintain Valid Ca State Driver's license with acceptable driving record. Must be able to pass background check and drug screen. Preferred: OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Safety Training certification. Experience with military or government contracts. Working Conditions: Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoors's work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions Must be able to complete assigned tasks in high or confined spaces. Work hours are subject to change, with overtime work as needed Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm, diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, common colds, influenza, dust odors and elevated noise levels Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hand and soft-carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces Physical Requirements: Capable of lifting and/or moving up to 70 lbs. Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolds, and walkways.
