Description

The Contracting Projects Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all on-site coordination of Mechanical and Electrical projects from inception to completion, ensuring effective execution of project tasks and seamless coordination of all on-site activities. This role encompasses the administration, implementation, and management of scheduled tasks, including supervising work conducted in occupied spaces as directed by project management. Furthermore, the superintendent is accountable for managing the assigned project's scope of work, maintaining schedules, and adhering to budgetary requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Complete assigned projects within established timelines and meet customer requirements
  • Assist the project manager with planning and analysis of assigned projects, establishing schedules and project parameters to achieve system objectives
  • Communicate with customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff
  • Ensure compliance with internal contracting processes
  • Help maintain cost control for project budgets
  • Support the project manager in receiving and evaluating subcontractor proposals, and supervise the work of project staff, subcontractors, and installers
  • Generate equipment deficiency orders, review plans and progress, and prioritize tasks
  • Assist with change order management in project management by recommending solutions and facilitating quotes
  • Maintain quality standards for assigned projects
  • Address concerns raised by customers, implement corrective actions, and communicate with customers and assigned staff to maintain satisfaction
  • Establish professional relationships with customers and provide regular status updates and project reviews
  • Obtain customer acceptance and required sign-offs on project completion
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and recommended practices
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the company's mission and values
  • Travel, including overnight stays, may be required
  • Overtime and weekend work may be necessary as required

Qualifications

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of three years' experience in general construction or mechanical contracting project site supervision is required.
  • Candidates must hold North Carolina Tech Heating and Air Conditioning Licenses (H-1, H-2, and H-3 Class I). Equivalent education and experience combinations may be considered as substitutes for the stated qualifications.
  • Proficiency in the operation of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and temperature controls is preferred.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to operate electronic devices such as laptops and iPhones is desired.
  • The ability to successfully pass a drug screening is required.
  • Proof of eligibility for employment in the United States is required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license is mandatory.

This position works on project job sites which include outdoor work and work in mechanical/equipment rooms. During the job site work, the associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
