As a CATIA Aircraft Integrator, specializing in aircraft-level design activities, you will play a critical role in the design and development of our aircraft. You will be responsible for managing and overseeing the creation, integration, and optimization of complex aircraft-level designs using CATIA V5+.

Design and Development:

  • Lead the design and development of aircraft-level designs using Catia, focusing on 3D master geometry, lofts, datums, interfaces, vehicle product structure, model trees, configurations, aerodynamic contours, relational design, links, publications, surfacing, and advanced design
  • Ensure the integration of various subsystems and components to create a cohesive and functional aircraft design
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and compliance with industry standards

Technical Expertise:

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the design team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to aerospace design and Catia software
  • Train and educate other Catia users to properly interact with aircraft-level design

3D Master Geometry

  • Develop and manage 3D master geometry to ensure accurate and consistent design data throughout the project lifecycle
  • Create and optimize lofts and complex surfaces to meet aerodynamic and structural requirements
  • Define and maintain datums to establish a reference framework for the design and manufacturing processes
  • Manage interfaces between subsystems and components to ensure seamless integration and functionality
  • Develop and manage the vehicle product structure to maintain a comprehensive and organized design hierarchy
  • Utilize and maintain model trees to ensure proper organization and accessibility of design data
  • Establish and maintain links and publications to create a connected and consistent design environment

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience

  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience

  • Significant experience using Catia V5 or V6

  • Working knowledge of Catia/3DExperience capabilities related to Links, Publications and other Relational Design activities

  • Familiarity with aircraft-level master geometry (datums, surfaces, product structures, nomenclature)

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry

  • Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes

  • Direct program experience managing aircraft-level geometry using Catia V6 and 3DExperience

  • Experience managing subsystem/component interfaces using relational design and lifecycle management techniques

  • Surfacing experience related to CFD/windtunnel analysis including flight/ground configurations
