Job Summary:
The Project Engineer role suppor t s ongoing Lonza operations by providing technical leadership as it relates to manufacturing and process systems. The role acts as a technical resource to operations customers to ensure that equipment and facil ities are designed, opera ted, and maintained to meet production needs. Responsibilities of the role include implementation of engineering projects to support manufacturing requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Support
Develop technical knowledge on manufacturing equipment and processes
Responsible and accountable for resolution of all major equipment breakdowns and quality issues in the suites
Provide SME support to Manufacturing and other departments for the design and operation of process equipment
Conduct troubleshooting and technical analyses on manufacturing equipment and processes including PI da ta analyses, CIP/SIP circuit development and review, MOC analyses, flow path analyses, etc.
Assist with tech transfer of new processes into the facility
Modify/develop preventative maintenance plans and create spare parts
Complete c hange request lot assessments to support lot release
Participates in IPT/JPT meetings and customer ad hoc meetings
Projects
Planning and execution of plant projects involving equipment changes and significant process improvements including lump sum capital projects.
Plan and execute commissioning protocols (installation, operation, CIP/SIP, wet testing)
Own change requests and complete change request tasks to support project completion
Perform change request assessments
Deviations / RCAs
Assist the Quality department with deviation investigations
Participate in RCAs as Engineering representative
Completion of CAPA actions
Approver of action plans for non - regulatory CAPA
Participates in quality risk assessments
Documentation
Review/revise Engineering and Manufacturing related SOPs, work instructions, and maintenance assessments/procedures as a result of CAPA, equipment/process changes, error prevention activities, etc.
Complete engineering review/approval of batch record s
Initiate EDCRs for updates to Engineering documents including engineering drawings
Author and review commissioning protocols (installation, operation, CIP/SIP, wet testing)

Remain up to date on all assigned training activities including SAP Learning Portal (>90%), ComplianceWire (no overdue), iComply (no overdue), and QSMRT (attend all sessions).
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline or related field required
5-10 years in project engineering or project management for chemical, or pharmaceutical industries with international experience
Project engineering skills, including contract management in collaboration with professional procurement organization
Understanding project controlling and project appraisal knowledge
Wide interdisciplinary and EHS knowledge
Capable motivating team drives results, good communication skills and experience in managing matrix-based cross-functional teams
Solid internal and external collaboration and influencing skills and the ability to lead diverse, cross-functional teams in the successful delivery of projects
Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment is crucial
Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines
Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating to the team
Strong written and oral communication skills
