The Welding Production Supervisor is accountable for leading and supervision of all work center teams across the assigned shift in the pursuit of on-time delivery of metals finished goods and components to our internal and external customers. This includes production reporting, providing training and guidance of
welding/fabricating processes, positioning subordinates for maximum productivity, assisting in employee
performance reviews, maintaining excellent housekeeping practices and ensuring that all company policies
and safety rules are followed on any shift positioned.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Motivates and over sees all supervision of leads and operators for Welding (including Spot & Robotic), Grinding and other supporting roles in F2-Welding & Fabrication Department.
  • Oversees and coordinates production schedule demands and produces parts / aligns workflow accordingly to meet production schedule through hands on delegation to workforce and order staging.
  • Provide training to all operators and leads on Welding/Job processes.
  • Ensures posting and inventory are accurate and timely following real-time transactions matching physical movements.
  • Reports, participates in investigation, and completes rework/remake of all non-conforming parts/ quality issues as directed by Production Manager
  • Conducts in-process inspections and verifications of finished parts to ascertain continuous part and process quality conformance.
  • Assists in all direct-reporting employee evaluations, conflict resolutions, disciplinary actions, provides insight to admin/ upper management.
  • Formulates recommendations to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality, as well as for improvement of working conditions, the workforce, and overall operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Promotes teamwork, effective communication, and adherence to company policies, process, and procedures.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent may be required.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment.
  • 5 plus years supervision experience with good leadership and communication skills.
  • Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints, tape measure, calipers, and other shop drawing aids.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change.
  • Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
  • Safety conscious behavior.
  • Ability to work with various types of metal forming constraints with guidance.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift, carry, push and or pull 1 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.
  • Sit, stand and walk for 1 10 hours per day.
  • Close mental and visual attention required, coordinating manual dexterity with mental and visual attention for sustained periods of time.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Work Site Environment

  • Ability to work in a 55 85 degree Fahrenheit work environment.
