Position Summary:
The Rail Car Mechanic Manager is responsible for supervising and coordinating all activities related to the inspection, maintenance, and repair of railcars. This role ensures work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the railcar maintenance team.

• Schedule, assign, and monitor work of railcar mechanics and technicians.

• Inspect railcars to diagnose mechanical issues and ensure compliance with AAR, FRA, and company standards.

• Train and mentor employees on proper safety procedures and repair techniques.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

• Order and manage parts, tools, and equipment.

• Ensure a safe and productive work environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in railcar repair and maintenance.

• At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a mechanical or rail-related environment.

• In-depth knowledge of AAR and FRA rules and regulations.

• Strong leadership and team management skills.

• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.

• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Welder or NDT experience a plus.

• Technical or vocational training in mechanics or a related field.
