Light Equipment Operator - Streets

Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled utility maintenance work and operates a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of the City streets, alleys, and utility systems with a concentration on streets and traffic systems. Actively supports and upholds the Citys mission and values. MANDATORY MEMBER OF SNOW & ICE CONTROL TEAM

Compensation & Benefits

The 2024 hourly wage range for the position is $23.1382-26.5749, DOQ with an excellent benefits package. New 2025 pay scale will take effect December 23, 2024.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.); and

• One (1) year of experience in the operation of light equipment relating to construction, maintenance or repair of water distribution systems, sanitary/storm sewer collection systems and/or roadways, or equivalent; and

• Possess a valid Ohio Drivers License*; and

• Possess a minimum of a Class B Ohio Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with tanker endorsement or obtain within 6 months of position appointment*; and

• Must be able to respond within a reasonable amount of time to emergencies and fulfill physical demands of the position; and

• Must be able and willing to work extended hours and demonstrate a work history of reliable attendance and overtime response.

*Licensures must be maintained over the course of employment as a condition of employment within this classification.
