ARES has an exciting opportunity for a Facility Engineer (Electrician) to serve as the Facility Engineer (Electrician) maintaining and upgrading the BGIF Facility.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities include ensuring proper power, heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting, space management, construction, security, and maintenance, as appropriate, for the interior workspaces and computer rooms in the BGIF.
- Responsibilities include planning and conducting inspections at the appropriate levels and frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, and annual – determined in coordination with the Government) on the BGIF power and cooling systems (i.e., generators, uninterruptable power supply, switching gear, and computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units), and conducting preventative/corrective maintenance as needed to include procurement of supplies and commodities necessary to conduct facility maintenance.
- Ability to generate and implement a BGIF Maintenance Plan covering preventative maintenance action, approved upgrades to power, cooling or any other facility systems to enable 99.96% uptime for power and cooling systems within the purview of the contractor.
- Task functions include all server room power systems from the utility power entry point through the power connection to all racks in BGIF server rooms (including any redundancies).
EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:
- Ability to perform and deliver a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. Tasks may include installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating/cooling units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.
- Knowledge and expertise working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing problems in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments required to maintaining and operate executing the OPIR TAP Lab's.
- Ability to manage, organize, plan and execute facilities engineering/electrical support services and products for the OPIR TAP Lab.
Education:
- A HS and/or AS degree or higher with 5 years’ relevant experience or Journeyman Electrician with 2-5 years’ experience.
- Experience must be relevant to specific project requirements. The Facility electrician requires training and certification acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
- Must possess current TS Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
