McCarthy currently has an opening for a Plumbing General Foreman with experience working on large construction job sites specifically with strong background in self-perform work including wall forms, columns, grade beams and concrete work. The General Foreman is responsible for the daily execution of a specific area or portion of the project to be carried out safely, within budget, on schedule and to the company highest quality standards. The General Foreman works closely with the Project Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents to ensure timely, high quality and successful completion of project. Key Responsibilities
  • Supervises foreman and their crews within their specific area or portion of the project.
  • Participates in job planning for work packages, site set up and construction schedules
  • Estimates worker-hour requirement to meet the needs of the construction plans.
  • Exhibits a high level of safety consciousness and a clear understanding of McCarthys safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform testing, inspecting, and recording for all installations to ensure compliance with local and national code standards.
  • Understand plans and specifications applicable to trade, including VDC/BIM models, spool sheets, and drawings.
  • Promote a positive learning environment for apprentices and direct their activities.
  • Understand and implement lockout/tag-out procedures for safe and secure tasks
  • Schedules and coordinates activities of assigned craft workers while communicating and coordinating schedules with other trades.
  • Inspects work in progress and completed work to make sure complies with project specifications
  • Interpret blueprints and construction documents and plan construction activities accordingly.
  • Responsible for the coding of time of labor force and the processing of invoices.
  • Manage and assist skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties under close supervision.
  • Train and supervise workers on company policies, safety practices, regulations and procedures.
  • Provides leadership and influences training and development of subordinates to improve their capabilities.
  • Assists in the recruitment of new talent of skilled craft and trades people.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience managing crews on large construction jobsites.
  • Prior leadership experience required (2 years)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of multiple plumbing systems and material applications.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience.
  • $1.00 increase to base pay if licensed.
  • Be able to communicate in English both verbally and written.
  • Valid drive license for occasional driving of company trucks.
  • Ability to problems solve, and draw conclusions.
  • General knowledge of construction principles/processes required
  • Proven commitment to Safety and building relationships team
  • Experience managing Field Staff
  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used on construction projects
  • Previous experience on construction projects
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
  • Minimum age 18
  • Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization
