Heavy Equipment & Civil Operations Operator

Were seeking a Heavy Equipment & Civil Operations Operator play a key role for a residential development project in the Highland area of Anchorage This position requires solid experience operating heavy equipment operation experience and a valid Class A -CDL. The job may perform a wide variety of tasks in addition to duties listed below.

Key Duties

  • Perform residential construction activities, including excavation, grading, road building, all property clearing and grubbing, land development, site preparation, etc.
  • Transfer from one task to another as the workflow dictates.
  • Interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Operate heavy equipment as is applicable for the various activities.
  • Perform daily routine maintenance for the equipment.

Job Requirements

  • Class A CDL required.
  • Must have minimum of 5 years of heavy equipment operation experience, working residential or commercial civil construction projects.
  • Requires strong knowledge and experience with grade checking, and septic installation.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug test.

Work Schedule

  • 8-10-hour shift, Monday through Friday.
  • Overtime is possible.
  • Weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to physically operate heavy equipment for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to cut down trees, bushes, etc and prepare them for removal.
  • Must be able to stoop, climb, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand to operate and repair heavy equipment.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures.
  • Must be able to walk/maneuver on uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs at a time.
  • Steady hands and feet are needed to guide and control heavy machinery precisely.
  • Appropriate physical condition and endurance required.
  • Must be able to work onsite and work long weeks – up to 50 hours.

Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications.
