Description

Since 1945, Huskey has been a family-owned and operated company in the building materials industry serving Middle TN. We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations of our privately held company. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will be responsible for financial planning, risk management, reporting, and supporting the company's long-term growth objectives. This role requires a hands-on leader who can provide financial insight, drive operational efficiency, and ensure the company's financial health while aligning with the vision of ownership.

CFO / Chief Financial Officer Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies that support the company's business objectives and ownership goals.
  • Oversee all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal controls.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial analysis and recommendations to the CEO and ownership.
  • Manage banking relationships, financing arrangements, and capital structure.
  • Lead financial due diligence and integration for acquisitions or strategic investments.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue growth, and operational improvements.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team.
  • Support long-term business continuity strategies.
  • Negotiate with insurance carriers and benefits providers to secure favorable terms.
  • Assess and manage corporate insurance policies (e.g., general liability, property, D&O, cyber liability).

CFO / Chief Financial Officer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Licensed CPA.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in a privately held or entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Proven ability to work closely with ownership and executive leadership.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and a collaborative leadership style.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., ERP, Excel, BI platforms).
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution.
