OVERVIEW:

The primary purpose of the Maintenance Electrician is to ensure the facility and machinery are efficiently maintained to optimize production. As a member of the RS team, this position will support an organizational culture that cares for other's well-being through best practices in health and safety, in addition to the company's values of respect, integrity, quality, teamwork and professional growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform building maintenance and repairs as needed and assigned
  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment (motors, VFD drives, servo drives and servo motors)
  • Complete scheduled Preventative Maintenance tasks
  • Work with Mechanical maintenance to quickly and efficiently solve problems
  • Complete all work orders and preventive maintenance as required
  • Adhere to all related paperwork and database entries for efficient process flow utilizing the CMMS systems
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and PPE requirements including ability to fit test and wear a half mask respirator
  • Assist the Engineering Department in the research, trial & development, selection of new processes and equipment to improve the production process
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, all company safety rules and applicable laws, rules and regulations
  • Effectively communicate with production department daily for equipment condition and repair status
  • Other duties as assigned

TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Industrial Electrician Trade Certification
  • Minimum three years' experience in Industrial Maintenance and/or machine building
  • College Diploma preferred, equivalent trade years considered
  • Electrical voltages 480/3/AC, 230/3/AC, 110/1/AC, 24DC, 12/DC
  • Experience and ability to use electrical trouble shooting tools
  • Experience using a Digital/Analog voltmeter, IR gun, MEG Tools
  • Experience in troubleshooting automated equipment
  • Servo Drives and motors experience
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and power transmission systems
  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic experience an asset
  • HVAC experience an asset
  • Siemens PLC experience an asset
  • Working at Heights Certificate
  • Forklift/ Lift Truck Certificate
  • Controls and/or automation experience an asset
  • Overhead Crane Certificate an asset

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Industrial manufacturing production environment
  • Hot & humid areas within the plant
  • Physically demanding tasks, must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Interaction with heavy machinery, moving equipment and limited movement of chemicals within the production area
