Job Title: Supervisor - Solar

Summary:

The Supervisor - Solar is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the installation of solar panels, inverters, and other related components, ensuring each project is executed to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role combines technical guidance with field leadership, coordinating skilled technicians to ensure efficient and timely project delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the installation of solar power systems, including the coordination of all on-site activities.
  • Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with industry best practices, local building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the installation team, troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to address any challenges or concerns.
  • Maintain detailed records of project progress, materials used, and any issues encountered.
  • Promote a positive and safety-conscious work environment, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staffing levels for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads.
  • Collaborate with workers and managers to resolve work-related issues.
  • Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure it has been performed to standards.
  • Transmit and explain work orders to laborers, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Verify specifications of materials loaded or unloaded against information contained in work orders.
  • Inform designated employees or departments of items loaded or problems encountered.
  • Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals.
  • Perform the same work duties as those supervised, or perform more difficult or skilled tasks to assist in their performance.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports of critical information such as employee time and wages, daily receipts, or inspection results.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

May supervise up to 10 employees, providing guidance, training, and corrective feedback.

Requirements:

  • Ability to perform a variety of duties which may change often; work within standards of accuracy.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, documents, instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Proficient in routine report writing.
  • Effective communication skills are essential.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • At least two years of related supervisory experience, with specific experience in solar installation preferred.
