Job Description Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic-Electrical Technician will install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical components of machinery and equipment by performing the following duties.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma and Vocational diploma; or High School diploma and apprentice experience. * Note: Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a US Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC. *
Three years commercial electrical experience.
Valid Driver's License with a driving record in good standing.
Preferred Qualifications
Electrical license
Five (5) years of commercial electrical experience
Essential Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Install wiring and conduit systems for newly installed machines and equipment.
Replace bulbs and ballasts.
Run new circuits.
Pull telephone and computer wires.
Check and maintain all types of light fixtures and outlets.
Inventory and maintain stock of electrical items.
Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken parts, wiring or cables.
Assist other trades as necessary.
Operate different types of lifts to perform electrical work.
Operate a forklift, with training.
Subject to be on call for emergencies.
Assist with snow removal.
Other duties may be assigned.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standard and non-standard situations.
