SUMMARY
Direct, schedule, and coordinate activities of a designated direct report crew, ensuring
project safety, quality, and production tasks, goals, and objectives are achieved on time and under budget.
TYPICAL DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety
- Work with the crew to plan and perform the work with a safe work or no work mindset.
- Understand and work with the OSHA and company safety guidelines at all times.
- Maintain a safe work zone for the traveling public.
Quality
- Maintain and lead with a working understanding of each utility construction crew position performed by the company.
- Maintain working knowledge of and ability to run all equipment and tools necessary to complete a project.
- Deliver a project that exceeds the expectations of the customers and community.
Production
- Read, understand, and lead the execution of all plans, drawings, and specifications sharing, necessary information with crew members.
- Understand and execute work as defined in the 3-week schedule.
- Make scheduling changes as needed based on overall understanding of the project requirements and deadlines to meet or exceed expectations.
- Verify all materials for daily tasks are correct and onsite.
Leadership
- Anticipate and solve problems with a positive mindset and focus on solutions.
- Encourage and expect honesty and openness from self and all crew members.
- Establish and enforce jobsite and HR policies, procedures, and performance standards per company policy.
- Train, mentor, and coach employees through concise instructions, practical feedback, and celebratory praise.
- Communicate directly, clearly, respectfully, and collaboratively with the crew, Superintendent, Owners, Engineers, Inspectors, and the public.
- Seek out and take the initiative to improve existing processes and systems.
- Assist Superintendent in completing detailed annual crew performance reviews.
- Accurately complete daily reports and time sheets.
Abide by the Company's Fleet Driving Policy.
Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED plus four (4) to five (5) years of related experience and/or training
- OSHA 10 required
- Maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record

- Skilled in schedule management, problem-solving, and communication
- Understand and be committed to safety and jobsite standards, policies, and processes
