Machine Builder Apprentice

Apprenticeships help to develop and grow a skilled workforce through a unique combination of hands-on and classroom learning. We teach and mentor the next generation of highly-productive employees for careers requiring precision skills. Apprenticeships are 4 years of on-the-job working and learning totaling 8,000 hours, as well as related classes.

Our apprenticeship's follow the United States Department of Labor standards.

As a Machine Builder Apprentice, you will construct, build and rebuild machines and fixtures and similar equipment, alongside seasoned professionals in our automation facility.

Common GRCC Courses: Technical Math, Industrial Graphics with CAD, Machine Trades Blueprint Reading, SolidWorks, Metallurgy, MIG and TIG Welding, Electrical, Controls, PLC, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and Industrial Physics

Hands on Training: You will learn many tools, machines and skills including: Mills, Lathes, Drill Press, Surface Grinder, Band Saw, Welding, Blueprint Reading, Detail Manufacturing, Layout and Assembly, Debug and Service.

Successful Candidates will have:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 18 years of age
• Punctual, reliable, and safety conscious
• Willingness to learn and take initiative
• Ability to serve, prioritize, and multi-task to support multiple areas
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively and be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation, and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others.
