We are seeking a 417 Sprinkler Fitter Field Superintendent to lead and manage both service and contract/construction fire sprinkler operations in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. This hybrid role ensures that all sprinkler system projects-from service calls to new installations-are completed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

You'll provide hands-on leadership to 417 sprinkler fitter crews while also managing job schedules, labor assignments, and coordination with office staff and external partners. This role involves a split between fieldwork and office time.

Key Responsibilities

General Supervision

• Lead and supervise sprinkler fitters in the field (Local 417).
• Assist in assigning labor efficiently based on project needs, crew skillsets, and schedule requirements.
• Collaborate closely with project coordinators, designers, and general contractors to drive project success.
• Maintain strong job site presence to verify quality, compliance, and productivity.
• Enforce safety policies and ensure job site adherence to OSHA and NFPA regulations.

Service Operations

• Assist in managing sprinkler service work including inspections, repairs, retrofits, and maintenance.
• Monitor productivity of service work orders.
• Collaborate with service coordinators to build weekly schedules.
• Ensure tools, materials, and equipment are available and in proper condition for service work.

Contract/Construction Operations

• Supervise field staff in fire sprinkler installation projects, ensuring alignment with design, labor budgets, and timelines.
• Coordinate with general contractors and when required attend job site scheduling meetings to resolve issues and avoid delays.
• Work with design staff to provide field-level guidance and resolve technical questions.
• Conduct post-project reviews to identify and address project deviations.

Qualifications

• Must be a certified Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter with Local 417.
• Minimum 10 years of field experience in fire protection systems, with supervisory or foreman-level experience.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Strong mechanical skills and deep understanding of fire sprinkler systems.
• Effective communicator and team leader.
• Organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Comfortable working in both fast-paced construction and service environments.
• Willingness to travel throughout 417 territory as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Superintendent or Foreman on both service and contract fire sprinkler projects.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
• Familiar with emailing, texting, forwarding saved attachments and file structure.
• Knowledge of NFPA codes and inspection/testing standards.
