Position Summary:
Based in Hebron, Kentucky, the Project Engineer has the responsibility to perform engineering functions in all aspects of the coating process, as well as supporting Sales with new product development and general plant support. This includes tool design, machine design, QC assistance, coating engineering, and failure analysis. Internal owner of local Facilities maintenance, SHE systems, training, and projects. The Project Engineer adds value to the plant by serving as the focal point for all plant engineering projects. The position requires clear and direct communication skills as well as a professional disposition
Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to, the following.
- Responsible for project engineering, automation/mechanization, and production line design and construction.
- Familiarity with machine shop equipment and able to troubleshoot and understand capabilities and limitations when supporting new business opportunities.
- Ability to design, draw, and have built tooling to support the business.
- Visualize and build automated equipment, work with electrical systems, and perform periodic maintenance (PM) as needed.
- Will be an advocate for Bodycote, interacting with customers, employees, and communities to drive the business goals.
- Conduct an Annual Customer Satisfaction Survey on behalf of the business.
- Maintain quality accreditation of the facility by at least one recognized authority.
- Maintain equipment and facility in an upscale appearance (5S Principle)
- Promote and practice timely and accurate communication, verbally and in writing, to employees, customers, and business partners.
- Must work in a manner consistent with the Environmental Management System.
- Observe all Environment, Health, and Safety Policy requirements.
- Keeping the work area neat and orderly at all times.
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Coach, train, motivate, and retain a quality-oriented and productive workforce while ensuring the execution of business objectives.
- Disposal of waste per safety standards.
- Performs other tasks as designated by the position.
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
- This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customers' inventory, and as such, will perform duties safely and responsibly to prevent customer loss or damage.
- Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.

- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; therefore, candidates must be U.S. citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
- Education - Engineering degree preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of machining tools and capabilities required.
- Ability to read part prints as well as the ability to draw within CAD or Solidworks is required.
- Extensive fabrication experience required.
- Experience managing capital projects and executing projects to completion is required.
- Five years' work experience in an industrial environment with practical knowledge of ISO and EHS systems.
- Demonstrated leadership skills sufficient to coach, mentor, and drive objectives through multi-level employees and functions.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience of computer applications, including Microsoft Office and databases, is required.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.

- Must be able to work in a sitting and/or standing position for extended periods in an industrial environment.
- Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.
