Saw Operator**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Metal Aluminum Saw Operator to join our production team. This role involves operating industrial saws to cut aluminum and other metal materials to precise specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with metal fabrication equipment, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate various types of saws (e.g., band saws, circular saws) to cut aluminum and metal stock according to production orders.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
+ Measure and mark materials for cutting using precision tools.
+ Inspect finished pieces for accuracy and quality, ensuring compliance with specifications.
+ Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of saw equipment.
+ Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and report shortages.
+ Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
+ Document production activities and maintain accurate records.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience operating metal cutting saws, preferably in an aluminum fabrication environment.
+ Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
+ Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
+ Experience using a computer to pull order forms for jobs that need completion.

Work hours are from 6am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday. The facility is located in West Des Moines and is non-temperature controlled. Expect to work with a small team of 2-5 people. Dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, t-shirt, safety glasses, and hearing protection. Overtime may be required during busy projects or approaching deadlines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Des Moines, Iowa.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.00/hr.
