One of Insight Globals major clients are seeking a Senior/Principal Structural Engineer be responsible for leading their structural engineering group and providing direct supervision of structural engineering efforts for hydropower projects. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with a strong background in structural engineering and extensive experience in the design and analysis of large infrastructure projects. Additional day to day responsibilities include:
Lead a team of structural engineers, providing direct supervision of design activities in support of new and existing hydraulic structures and hydropower facilities, including:
Reinforced concrete (mass and structural)
Stairs, gratings, covers, and equipment safety enclosures
Bulkheads
Gates, stoplogs, trash racks, and embedded parts
Temporary structures (cofferdams, soil, rock supports, etc.)
Equipment mounting and support details for BOP systems including piping, cable tray, conduits, and ductwork.
Develop and review detailed engineering plans, specifications, and calculations for structural components in 2D and 3D CAD environments such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, REVIT, etc.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the structural engineering team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers, to ensure integrated project delivery.
Provide services during construction including submittal reviews, response to Contractors request for information, review and approval of change orders, and preparation of record drawings.
Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure structural integrity and compliance with design specifications.
Identify and mitigate potential structural risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Stay updated on advancements in structural engineering practices and technologies, incorporating best practices into project designs.
Prepare and present technical reports and documentation to senior management and stakeholders.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelors degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university, and a PE (Professional Engineering) license.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in structural engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience in the design of concrete and steel hydraulic structures or hydropower infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, codes, and standards, including American Concrete Institute (ACI), AISC, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), etc.
Experience with 2D and 3D CAD and structural analysis software.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. A Masters degree or SE (Structural Engineer) license is preferred. Candidate must be willing to obtain an SE license within 12 months. null
