Under general direction of the Northern Academy Program Director, the Child Welfare Workforce Innovations Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing projects that advance instructional innovation that supports the Northern Academy region and the California Regional Academy system for child welfare services. This role oversees complex child welfare curriculum and workforce development innovation initiatives, managing detailed workplans with measurable objectives, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to make strategic recommendations, and integrating best practices and technology to enhance learning experiences for child welfare professionals at both regional and statewide levels.

The Child Welfare Workforce Innovations Project Manager develops and implements comprehensive systems and processes that support effective project execution, communication, and stakeholder engagement. This role involves close collaboration with instructional designers to develop high quality deliverables that align with project goals and timelines, along with fostering and sustaining collaborative relationships with a diverse array of partners, such as Regional Academies, the California Department of Social Services, county staff, universities, instructors and individuals with lived experience.

This position supervises and leads the Northern Academy Instructional Innovations project team, including business system analyst. Partners with Northern Academy staff and with other workforce innovation project managers at the other Regional Academies to lead and facilitate workgroups, build improvements in program design and implementation, and follow up with collaborators to ensure alignment and progress across initiatives. Additionally, this position leads cross-functional workgroups to improve business processes by identifying needs, mapping and documenting workflows, evaluating alternative solutions, and implementing effective strategies for multiple complex initiatives. The role includes delivering status updates and outcomes reports, while adeptly managing politically sensitive issues among key stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

Bachelor's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum 5 years' experience in complex project management. Demonstrated leadership experience to independently manage/direct a wide variety of projects to their successful completion. Experience reporting results to stakeholders/collaborators.

Minimum 3 years' experience supervising a team.

Experience extracting, analyzing and reconciling data, evaluating trends, and preparing reports for decision-making.

Experience in advances features of MS Office suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel. Analytical skills and experience to define a problem, identify alternatives, secure relevant data, analyze quantitative and qualitative data, and make sound recommendations.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and political acumen to convene, facilitate and interact with internal and external stakeholders, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using database and reporting applications such as Airtable, Salesforce and Qualtrics.

Experience with public child welfare services in California.

Demonstrated ability to work and make decisions independently.
