Duties
Help
The High Voltage Electrical Worker Leader:
Installs, repairs, and calibres high voltage power distribution systems to support fleet electrical needs, including major system modificions for added loads and circuitry.
Performs complex troubleshooting and repair of AC/DC circuits and electrical/electronic equipment, applying advanced theory and hands-on techniques.
Monitors electrical loads and performs critical calculions to ensure system continuity, safety, and proper component selection.
Conducts all types of cable splicing (high/low voltage) in diverse environments including above ground, underground, shipboard, and underwerstrictly adhering to manufacturer specificions.
Installs and energizes independent electrical systems on ships using various power sources (shore power, diesel generors, floing barges) for essential systems like alarms, preservion units, and anchor windlass.
The ideal candide is a self-starter with the experience to independently assesses the merial and operional condition of the assigned ships to meet mission requirements and regulory standards. They possess a strong understanding of ship maintenance, repair, and operions. The ideal candide can also apply the standards of the U.S. Coast Guard and American Bureau of Shipping for U.S. flag cargo ships, and possesses strong interpersonal skills required to work with other governments employees, government contractors, ship crews, and partners in the maritime industry.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

To qualify for the WL-11, your experience should include experience equal or equivalent to the following:
Ability to complete repairs on electrical systems and equipment containing diodes, transistors, and electronic devices in the circuitry.
Ability to isole, repair, or replace faulty components such as hydraulic/pneumic pressure regulors and hydraulic volume controls on equipment.
Ability to communice with workers being led, pass on instructions, relay job assignments for recurring and special tasks, and train employees as needed.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
