Maintenance Electrician

Mid-sized manufacturing company is seeking to fill a second shift Maintenance Electrician position at its plant in the Huger, SC area.

This team member shall be responsible for installation, assembly, repair, and maintenance of machinery where electrical equipment and devices are in use. These functions include reading schematics / blueprints, performing diagnostic assessments, programmable logic troubleshooting, installing and maintaining safety related electrical upgrades such as scanners and interlocks and using a variety of tools and techniques to ensure that the equipment is functioning optimally.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Awareness of national, state, and local electrical codes
  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical components
  • Ability to read technical documents
  • Perform quality testing and inspections of electrical devices
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and equipment
  • Perform circuit breaker corrective and preventative maintenance
  • Maintain knowledge of various testing equipment
  • Basic understanding of mechanical equipment
  • Troubleshooting variable frequency drives.
  • Troubleshooting PLCs a plus but not required
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting
  • Assist mechanics with mechanical repairs and maintenance

Understanding and knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes.

A minimum of 5 years' experience in the manufacturing environment, improving and maintaining electrical systems.

Strategic mindset with sound technical skills, analytical ability, problem solving, strong operational focus, and creative thinking.

Software skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Effective communication skills - both oral and written.

Effective troubleshooting electrical systems and auxiliary equipment.

Attention to detail and desire to work in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to work cooperatively with others to ensure constructive and productive business relationships and cross functional collaboration.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with teams.

Education

Industrial Electrical Training (may include automation, apprenticeship programs, college coursework or on the job experience)
