Description
Apex International, the world's largest anilox manufacturer, currently has an opening for a Grinding Operator at our North America production facility in Donora, PA. At Apex, we take pride in consistently delivering high-quality products to our customers, and the Grinding Operator plays a vital role in that commitment. This position is a key part of our production process, and success in the role requires a combination of the right skills, qualifications, and a strong team-oriented attitude.
Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities
Load and unload anilox rollers into the machine safely.
Monitor machine for proper functionality.
Operate and use overhead cranes safely.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Complete daily checklists, including refilling materials, dressing machines, and performing other assigned tasks.
Rolls can weigh over 2000 lbs (moved using a cart and overhead crane). Manual lifting of up to 50 lbs is required regularly.
Comfortable with Metric measurement.
Must be able to work with tight tolerances as tight as .0005.
Use micrometers for measuring diameters of anilox rollers.
Training will cover micrometer readings, interpreting work orders, inspection reports, and mechanical blueprints. You will also learn items specific to your department, how to operate overhead cranes safely, and how to navigate our inventory control system.
Qualifications
General understanding of basic hand tools
Basic math skills
High attention to detail
Machining experience preferred
