Job Summary
HRI, Inc., a leader in heavy civil construction since 1947, has an opening for upbeat Electriciansfor our projects in Central Pennsylvania. The position is within our Utilities Construction Region, where we are a leader in the water/wastewater treatment plant construction business in addition to our leading position with large, municipal pipe projects. Travel will be required for this position. The position is year-round work.
Main Responsibilities
Ability to read Electrical Power & Control drawings and take direction from project foreman
Familiarity with cutting, bending, and installing the different types of conduits (PVC, EMT, GRC, IMC, PVC- COATED, ETC.) encountered on our projects
Familiarity with the installation of the various wire types
Familiarity of troubleshooting electrical problems with existing systems
Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit- breaker panels, and fastens in place with crews or bolts using hand or power tools
Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope
Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
Disassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment or systems
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Valid drivers' license with the ability to maintain a clean driving history
Electrical Apprenticeship or Journeyman
Skills
Previous experience and knowledge with commercial electrical installation and/or related fields preferred
Physical Requirements
Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines
Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
Regularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objects
Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
Frequent exposure to loud noise
Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
Required to work varying hours, including nights/weekends, overtime as required
Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements
Proven track record working safely
Good work ethic, professional, and positive attitude
Some travel might be required
