ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Engineer oversees planning and coordinating technical engineering initiatives to make sure they can complete a project within their budget and according to a schedule. Their duties include upholding project standards by researching compliance regulations, developing project implementation plans and adjusting specifications for elements of a project.
Conduct regular meetings with clients to ensure clarification and meet specific requirements in a timely manner.
Delegate tasks to team members according to their individual skill sets, experience and abilities to ensure efficient completion of the project.
Maintain budgets and adjust according to needs as they arise.
Track performance and analyze the completion of key goals.
Document and report project progress to stakeholders and clients.
Perform assignments in the analysis and design of water and wastewater treatment facilities, including advanced treatment/nutrient removal processes, water and sewer pipelines, pump stations, and related infrastructure.
Prepare and review working drawings, details, layouts, cost estimates, studies, reports and work products.
Provide construction support and oversight including administration, limited inspection, and start-up/operations support for all water and wastewater facilities.

Provide cost opinions and potential reports on construction activities, including reviewing pay estimates, shop drawings, and submittals.
Support and assist with cooperative funding or grant applications and agreements for capital projects.
Deliver technical presentations as required.
Conduct periodic visits to project sites to review construction progress.
Seal work products and adjust reports, specifications, plans, construction documents, studies, permits, and designs as necessary.
Attending and contributing to client meetings as needed.
Assist with resource planning and forecasting.
Performs other related job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or other related discipline from an Accredited School. Eight (8) - twelve (12) years of experience in the design and construction oversight of water and/or wastewater infrastructure facilities and projects. P.E. (Professional Engineer) State of Texas required.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Microstation software or applicable software designed for specific area of focus
Proficient in MS Office and Bluebeam
Extensive knowledge of civil infrastructure, including paving, drainage, grading, water, and sewer systems
Advance proficiency in CAD design
Strong understanding of foundation systems, gravity systems, lateral systems, with expertise in designing and tracking loads through the various systems
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments effectively
Exceptional problem-solving skills
Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
Able to execute assignments with minimal direction and provide guidance to others as required
8+ or more years of civil engineering design experience
5 or more years of experience as a P.E
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Extensive Knowledge of chosen field of practice in civil engineering and the principles of civil engineering in other fields of practices;
Extensive Knowledge of modern engineering practices and technical procedures as they apply to public works or utilities;
Extensive Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures and the ability to plan and direct the work of engineers, contractors, technicians, and clerical personnel;
Extensive Knowledge of the principles and practices of land surveying depending on area of assignment;
Extensive Knowledge of the laws and Texas Statutes pertaining to area of assignment;
Skill in the use of engineering instruments and equipment and ability to utilize computer applications to engineering design, drafting, mapping, and plans;
Ability to give technical and professional review of a wide variety and large volume of engineering plans, specifications, and related documents;
Ability to review and understand construction plans, drainage calculations, and drainage models;
Ability to prepare basin maps, investigate cause, and assist in developing solutions to solve flood conditions.
Ability to manage multiple projects and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to identify problems and finding solutions,
