Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating for structural steel projects, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and clients. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate project specifications, drawings, and documents to prepare accurate estimates for structural steel projects. Perform project take-offs and assess labor, material, and overhead costs. Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to ensure comprehensive understanding of project requirements. Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing. Prepare detailed bid proposals for clients. Analyze project risks and provide recommendations to mitigate potential issues. Track and manage bid schedules and deadlines to ensure timely submissions. Assist in post-bid reviews and project handoffs. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years' experience in structural steel estimating or a related field. Experience working in a self-performing construction environment is a plus. Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., eTakeoff, Procore, Bluebeam, etc.). Strong mathematical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Knowledge of time and material construction methods is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to structural steel. Minimum Requirements: Ability to review and interpret structural steel drawings and technical specifications. Focused attention to detail. Experience with material quantity takeoffs specifically related to structural steel. Proficiency with estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Procore). Strong communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
