The Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation and integration of electrical systems in custom-built trailers, including commercial, recreational, and specialty units. This role involves working with both low-voltage (12V/24V DC) and standard AC (120V/240V) systems to meet unique customer specifications. The technician will wire lighting, outlets, breaker panels, inverters, batteries, solar setups, and other systems such as HVAC, appliances, or communication equipment. Key Responsibilities: Install complete trailer electrical systems from blueprints or custom designs. Run wiring for DC and AC systems, install breakers, outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures. Set up inverter/charger systems, battery banks, solar panels, and generator hookups. Ensure all wiring is clean, labeled, and meets industry codes (NEC, RVIA, or DOT standards). Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues during assembly or post-production. Coordinate with engineering and fabrication teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical components into trailer builds. Perform final electrical inspections and assist with quality assurance testing. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or electrical certification preferred. 2+ years of experience in trailer, RV, marine, or automotive electrical work. Strong understanding of DC and AC electrical systems, components, and safe wiring practices. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on fabrication or assembly environment. Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship. Preferred Skills: Experience with inverter/charger systems (e.g., Victron, Xantrex), solar installs, and lithium battery setups. Familiarity with custom trailer types (e.g., food trucks, command units, mobile offices). Understanding of NEC, RVIA, or DOT electrical standards. Basic mechanical or fabrication skills a plus (e.g., mounting equipment, cutting, drilling, conduit runs).
