Full Job Description Project Engineer The Project Engineer supports field and office operations by managing project documentation, tracking schedules and budgets, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring work is executed according to plans and specifications. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about learning and growing within the heavy civil and asphalt industry. Key Responsibilities Assist the Project Manager with pre-construction planning, including schedule development, material submittals, and permit coordination. Support daily project administration including RFIs, change orders, and subcontractor coordination. Track quantities, costs, and productivity metrics to support project tracking and forecasting. Maintain up-to-date documentation including plans, specs, daily reports, and safety records. Coordinate with superintendents and field crews to support daily operations and ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and action items. Support closeout processes including punch lists, as-builts, and final documentation. Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed on all job sites. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience). 1-3 years of experience in construction or civil project support (internships count). Understanding of construction documents, specifications, and standard practices. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or other construction software a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites within Southern Arizona. Preferred Traits Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Eager to learn and grow in a team-oriented environment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
