This position is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, financial accountability, and strategic alignment with company goals. The Operations Manager will lead cross-functional teams, manage resources, and implement best practices to deliver high-quality results across all projects and services. This role requires a proactive, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to continuous improvement, employee development, and customer satisfaction. This is a salary, exempt position in Elko, NV reporting directly to the Northwest Regional Director. Implement and maintain the company safety program in coordination with the Regional Director and Safety Department. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, policies, and standards. Coordinate pre-construction safety documentation and scheduling. Support ongoing safety education for operational teams. Sales and Marketing Collaborate with regional teams and Business Development to drive product and service sales. Maintain workload levels to meet revenue, gross profit (GP), and net profit targets. Monitor regional sales activities and job profitability. Ensure pricing and bids align with company GP parameters. Develop and execute marketing strategies in partnership with Business Development and Marketing teams. Operations and Management Lead operational activities within the region. Manage and motivate teams to achieve performance goals. Collaborate with estimating teams on bids and quotes. Ensure project budgets, tracking, and contracts are in place and adhered to. Oversee project cost tracking and audits with project administrators. Manage engineering vetting, labor utilization, and operational assets. Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, customer service, and productivity. Support employee retention and engagement. Supervise hiring, training, and performance reviews. Coordinate with HR on employee relations and concerns. Oversee vehicle and equipment maintenance with asset management. Financial Develop and implement annual forecasts and budgets with the Regional Director. Achieve or exceed net profit targets. Submit capital requests as needed. Ensure accurate and timely project billing with proper documentation. Collaborate with Project Administrators and Accounting on billing and forecasting. Coordination and Communication Daily: Check in with direct reports and communicate issues to the Director. Assist with day-to-day tasks as needed. Weekly: Participate in operational meetings. Update project lists and coordinate with Project Administrators and Accounting. Report weekly activities and performance to the Regional Director. Monthly: Ensure month-end billing is reviewed and submitted. Conduct follow-up meetings with the Regional Director to address concerns and updates. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required). Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in operations, project management, or a similar leadership role. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Advanced understanding of MSHA and OSHA rules and regulations. Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with ERP or project management software is a plus. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments. Proven ability to manage change and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Experience in contract management and vendor negotiations. Ability to travel within the region as needed. Criteria/Conditions: Work is performed in various industrial settings, including shop environment, mining environment, construction environment, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles. While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see. Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) during the Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves and other required protective equipment as required.
