Job Overview:
City laborers are responsible for keeping our communities clean, safe and functioning smoothly. They perform a wide range of duties, from collecting garbage to maintaining roads and other infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Filling potholes, painting playground equipment, and planting urban trees.
Landscaping duties such as planting and transplanting trees, pruning branches, grinding stumps, watering flowers and weeding flower beds.
Inspecting buildings for structural defects, such as cracks in the walls or floors.
Performing general maintenance tasks such as repairing potholes or painting street signs.
Inspecting and or repairing vehicles used by the city such as cars and trucks.
Inspecting construction sites to ensure that building codes are being followed, and safety measures are in place.
Repairing buildings or other public structures as needed.
Installing water meters, pouring cement sidewalks, and building retaining walls.
Assist in repairing burst pipe that floods the basement of city hall when needed.
All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
At least three months of experience as laborer. maintenance or related field.
No Education is required for this role
Pay Depends on experience and will be discussed with applicant by employer during the time of the interview.
