This position assists the Facilities Department in maintaining the property in order to assist in reaching profitability, guest satisfaction, workforce strength and compliance goals.

  • Perform maintenance and facilities tasks to support the facility operations. The daily maintenance and facilities tasks will include mechanical repairs, plumbing repairs, carpentry repairs, minor electrical repairs and HVACwhen applicable, aesthetic repairs, and other tasks assigned by management.
  • Perform other tasks such as general installation or adjustment of equipment, working on snow removal, cutting grass, and any other projects assigned to the department by upper management. Complete work requests from beginning to end in a timely and complete manner.
  • Responsible for his/her own tools and will keep tools clean and ready for work at all times. Able to borrow special tools and are fully responsible for these until they have been returned and accounted for. Sign in at the beginning of shift and out at the end of shift.
  • Inform management or the Shift lead on the progress of any tasks from previous shift and pass on pertinent information before end of shift.
  • Communicate and interact professionally with co-workers and other departments.
  • Carry and respond to radio calls and shift telephone as requested.
  • Set up safety barriers and prepare work area prior to the start of any task that impacts guests or employees.
  • Perform tasks safely and apply all safety precautions and procedures that are applicable such as LOTO, MSDS, PPE, etc. Perform tasks professionally and in a timely fashion in order to diminish the impact on guests and on-going operations.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, especially during the winter season.
  • Essential Duties Relative to Performance Review: Provide professional representation at internal and external meetings and events.
  • Demonstrate abilities to meet performance expectations with Communications, initiative/Problem Solving, Guest Service/interpersonal Relations, Work Habits and Conduct, and Responsible Gaming/Business Ethics.
  • Ensure interactions with internal and external guests follow the guidelines of the customer service program.
  • Adhere to all Corporate and local policies, procedures, and operating guidelines.

  • High School Diploma/GED; Associates/Technical Degree preferred;
  • 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn other trade skill, such as HVAC, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and or any other trades associated with the maintenance of property.
  • Agricultural experience preferred.
  • Technical/trade or HVACSubpart F certification preffered.
  • Heavy equipment experience preferred.
  • Must be comfortable around large animals.
  • Project work in barn/stable area.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and manuals.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from employees and guests.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
  • Ability to write reports. Multilingual, preferred (Spanish skills also preferred.)
  • Ability to perform basic math skills Must be able to perform simple measurements in feet and inches and perform some mathematical calculations in the process of performing maintenance and repairs to the property.
  • Ability to identify problems, collect data, analyze, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions (i.e., written, oral, etc.) independent decision making ability.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Must qualify for a license with the Pennsylvania State Racing Commission and meet any credentialing requirements of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
  • Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver's license.
