Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team in the Cedar Rapids area. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in ground-up construction, managing projects valued between $5-$15 million. This role involves leading commercial construction projects, including schools, convenience stores, car washes, warehouses, and multi-family developments. The position offers the opportunity to start with smaller projects and gradually transition to more complex tasks, though preference is given to candidates capable of quickly adapting and excelling.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise ground-up commercial construction projects.
• Manage project timelines and budgets effectively.
• Coordinate and oversee subcontractor activities to ensure smooth operations.
• Enforce safety standards and protocols on-site.
• Foster strong relationships and teamwork among crew members and subcontractors.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in ground-up construction.
• Proven expertise in construction management and supervision.
• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to direct and motivate teams.
• Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of ground-up construction.
• Experience in project management and site development.

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with most projects located locally in Belle Plaine and Cedar Rapids. Travel is minimal, generally not exceeding 45 minutes, with occasional trips to Des Moines. The company offers a competitive pay structure, including bonuses that form a significant portion of the compensation. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $44.00/hr.
