Description
Overall Responsibility: As aProject Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and monitoring of high-profile projects. You'll be responsible for creating and maintaining resource-loaded schedules, managing risks, and supporting project managers through effective project controls. Your expertise inDeltek or similar scheduling software will be essential to delivering transmission and distribution line projects on time and within scope.
Essential Functions:
Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules inthe ERP systemfor large, complex projects
Perform project controls functions includingcost control, project planning, risk management, and internal/external reporting
Collaborate with project managers to create achievable project plans based on resource availability and constraints
Provide guidance to key stakeholders regarding project milestones, timelines, and risks
Develop work breakdown structures (WBS) to support activity scheduling and project tracking
Ensure compliance with corporate governance and provide recommendations for resolution on cost, budget, and procurement issues
Monitor project progress, providing regular updates to stakeholders and offering solutions to keep projects on track
Support the execution of Lump Sum projects, ensuring milestones are met and risks are mitigated
Connect contracts, project managers and the billing team to ensure that project deliverables are met from beginning to end
Qualifications
Needed Skills:
Must be proficient in MS Office (MS Excel strong user-required), Power BI (preferred), Deltek or comparable ERP (preferred).
Project accounting, budgeting, reporting and analysis.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to manipulate and structure data in presentable, replicable format.
Ability to create and maintain productive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.
Education/Experience Minimum: BS Degree in Accounting or Finance
Bachelor's Degreein Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience inproject controlsand/orproject scheduling, preferably in the architecture and engineering, utility or construction industry
Proficient knowledge ofDeltek Vision/Vantage Point or similar programand familiarity withproject management practices
Strong understanding of the overallProject Management Organizationfunction
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with an ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
