Purpose and Objective:

SAP America, Inc. seeks a Development Manager at our Newtown Square, PA location to be responsible for supporting the success of not only your direct reports, but the success of all employees within the larger team you are a part by helping to identify development opportunities and supporting team members to achieve their goals.

Expectations and Tasks:

Expected to know about the members of extended team and share insights with peer managers. Look for opportunities to coach and recognize employees directly and provide just-in-time feedback so that employees can reflect on your input immediately. Responsible for management and advancement of individuals and teams. Responsible for building a high performing team concerning engineering and social aspects, including hiring the best people from within/ outside the company, fostering motivation and integration of employees as well as team learning and development. Actively addresses and resolves team issues. Set clear goals with team members, inspires and supports them towards accomplishing these goals and evaluates goal achievement in a fair and understandable way. Create an environment of continuous learning and improvement. Actively seek to coach and help with personal development. Regularly offer feedback in an effort to help others develop. Supports others in setting challenging development goals. Support cross topics outside of his/her management scope. Drive and actively participate in the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP). Actively drive Customer Collaboration aligned with PO. Contribute as a management stakeholder to long-living, maintainable, high quality components that can easily be integrated to a product. For non-LEAN contexts: Proactively act to understand business needs and offer solutions that align across business units; responsible for the vision of teams; strategic understanding of how the group's technology contribute to the product strategy. Build action plans and makes operational decisions on policies, tactics, and resources critical to the function's business success to ensure delivery against strategy of the function or team. Ensure strategy roll-out into own team/organization.

Education and Occupational Experience:

Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field of study or a related field of study and seven (7) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Will accept educational equivalency evaluation prepared by qualified evaluation service or in accordance with 8 CFR 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(D). Alternatively, a Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field of study or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:

Experience must involve five (5) years in the following:

  • Cloud infrastructure engineering, focusing on designing and managing the technology stack behind complex IaaS solutions;

  • S/4 HANA Cloud;

  • SAP BTP;

  • OpenStack;

  • Terraform;

  • Onboarding new clients to Converged Cloud including customization and document drafting; and

  • Providing strategic visions and leadership to the cloud infrastructure engineering team, overseeing the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud solutions.

Must have one (1) year of experience involving the following:

  • Leading Agile teams.

Compensation Range Transparency : The annual base salary range for this position is $ 214,614 - $306,844. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAPs commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $220,200 - $374,200 . The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
