Structural Engineer
Job Summary:
A prominent and award-winning engineering firm is seeking a dedicated Structural Engineer for their St Louis, MO office location. The Structural Engineer will possess extensive experience in the analysis, design, and detailing of structural systems. The role involves working on diverse projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring all structural engineering deliverables meet industry standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design/Technical Analysis: Develop and analyze structural designs for buildings, bridges, and other structures, ensuring safety, stability, and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and reports, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Site Inspections: Conduct site visits to assess conditions, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Collaborations: Work closely with architects, civil engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate structural systems into overall project designs.
- Compliance: Ensure all structural designs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve structural engineering issues and challenges, providing innovative and practical solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about the latest developments in structural engineering techniques, materials, and best practices to enhance project design and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) will also be considered.
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in vertical structural design and project management within: Commercial, Industrial, Education, Healthcare, Federal Buildings.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with sustainable and resilient design practices is a plus.
