About the RoleJoin a team committed to a safety-first culture on high-profile construction projects. As aSafety Manager, youll be instrumental in ensuring compliance with safety standards and fostering a secure work environment across data center and commercial building sites.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce project-specific and client-specific safety plans and guidelines.
- Collaborate with regional safety leads to ensure proper signage and PPE availability.
- Verify completion of safety orientation training for all on-site personnel.
- Collect and organize safety documentation from subcontractors and trade partners (e.g., JHAs, SDSs, High-Risk Activity Plans, certifications).
- Conduct daily safety audits using a digital platform, including annotated photo documentation.
- Submit at least two Safety Observation Reports weekly.
- Spend 6070% of time in the field engaging with crews and monitoring safety practices.
- Participate in daily huddles, coordination meetings, foremens meetings, and preconstruction sessions.
- Lead or support weekly all-hands safety meetings, including prep and attendance tracking.
- Spot-check safety documentation during site visits.
- Track and review Daily Action Plans, High-Risk Activity Plans, and orientation records.
- Report incidents and near-misses; assist with investigations.
- Conduct site-specific safety orientations and maintain communication with subcontractor safety reps.
- Lead or contribute to planning meetings for high-risk activities.
- Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience, including 3+ years in a managerial role.
- Safety certifications such as CHST or CSP.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Experience supporting data center or commercial building construction projects.
