One World Observatory

Positioned at the top of One World Trade Center—the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere—on levels 100, 101, and 102, One World Observatory provides guests with unique, panoramic views of New York City, its most iconic sites, and surrounding waters from 1,250 feet. THE ROLE

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for effectively and profitably managing and directing all day-to-day aspects of purchasing and receiving for the Food and Beverage and Operations Teams at One World Observatory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for maintaining inventory/order sheets and Procurement program.
  • Work with Food and Beverage management to assist with daily orders including the coordination of deliveries and product to be utilized in the café and restaurant.
  • Work closely with culinary team to maximize ordering efficiency, product deliveries and distribution, and inventory allocation.
  • Work with our suppliers to coordinate delivery dates and times, including updating vendor paperwork as necessary
  • Review vendor invoice pricing to ensure that legends is receiving the best possible product and the best rate
  • Monitor inventory, ensuring product is being rotated to control spoilage
  • Take and input inventory when necessary
  • Submit bulk of daily purchasing to suppliers
  • Code all invoices to proper outlet for payment processing
  • Track and monitor tardiness, call outs and administer progressive disciplinary actions per legends policy
  • Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Guide and develop the junior team members on the F&B team
  • Assist other F&B leaders in their absence
  • Partner with other departments (e.g., operations, finance, human resources) to ensure purchasing aligns with organizational needs.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Must be proficient on Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Customer service oriented with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of management
  • Strong team player with excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized with the ability to learn new programs and procedures quickly
  • Skilled at multitasking, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible to work extended hours as required by business needs, including late nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong analytical and creative thinking skills with the ability to understand complex business dynamics
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively based on business needs

COMPENSATION

$70,000 - $75,000 (commensurate with experience) and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401(k) plan.
