Farnsworth Group is seeking a Surveying Technician Office (MicroStation ORD/AutoCAD C3D) in one of the below posting locations. In this role, you will (list a few highlights). Posting Locations for this role: Peoria, Normal or Champaign, IL Job Activities:
- Works independently to obtain records & project information
- Prepares complex drawings from field data and field sketches using computer-aided drafting software platforms and ensures drawings are accurate and complete.
- Adheres to company and client standard CAD procedures as mandated.
- Exercises independent judgment in the execution of surveying deliverables.
- Communicates ideas for drawing execution, design and layout.
- Maintains schedules and communicates progress on a daily basis.
- Mentors less experienced surveying technicians and offers advice & knowledge.
- 6+ years previous surveying experience
- Valid US driver's license & good driving record
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to operate in a mentor / mentee team atmosphere
- Ability to understand and utilize current & new technology
- Safety oriented
- Excellent communication skills
- Positive and collaborative work ethic
- Experience with MS Office products (Word & Excel)
- 10+ years previous surveying experience
- Expert/advanced understanding of land surveying and geometry.
- Expert knowledge of AutoCAD C3D and/or MicroStation ORD
- CST1 or CST 2 or CST 3 (certified survey technician level 1 or 2 or 3) certification.
- Experienced with Aerial Drone and 3D Point Cloud scanning technology.
- Primarily an office position, ability to work outside on projects if needed.
- Ability to work in various terrain & weather conditions and recognize safety hazards.
- Requires the ability to work on multi-discipline projects simultaneously.
- Ability to use a computer and work in an office environment.
- Makes suggestions & undertakes company mandated trainings to increase skill and ability.
