**The Role**

We are seeking an experienced **Business Architecture & Planning Lead (Individual Contributor)** to drive strategic decision-making across Lumens planning process. In this role, you will be the **strategic owner** for key planning decisions year-over-year, ensuring that our commercial organization is structured to achieve upcoming annual growth targets and long-term revenue goals. **You will focus on developing territory rules, commercial blueprints, and coverage models** , and aligning customer segmentation strategies to optimize how our commercial teams cover the market. Reporting to the VP of Commercial Strategy, you will act as a critical bridge between **annual strategy, long-term strategy and execution** , working closely with the Annual Planning team to integrate strategic insights into yearly operating plans.

This role requires extensive collaboration with cross-functional partners you will **work hand-in-hand with Annual Planning, Long Range Planning, Sales Operations, Talent, Finance, HR, Compensation and Segment teams** to optimize resources to deliver sales & revenue. The ideal candidate is a **proactive strategist** with strong analytical skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. You will play a pivotal part in designing how we deploy our commercial resources each year and in refining our go-to-market blueprint over time, directly impacting Lumens ability to hit its growth objectives.

**The Main Responsibilities**

+ **Territory Planning:** Lead the development and implementation of territory rules (guidelines for defining sales territories and account assignments) to ensure balanced market coverage and eliminate gaps.

+ **Commercial Blueprint Design:** Create and maintain the **commercial blueprint** a high-level plan of our go-to-market strategy and sales organization design.

+ **Coverage Model & Segmentation:** Develop and refine sales **coverage models** in partnership with Commercial Excellence that determine how sales and support teams are allocated across customer segments and regions.

+ **Strategic Planning Ownership:** Serve as the owner of key annual planning **strategic decisions** regarding sales structure and coverage.

+ **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Work closely with the Sr. Director of Long Range Planning and the Annual Planning team to ensure alignment between long-range strategic plans and the annual operating plan.

+ **Modeling & Analytics:** Own the quantitative modeling and analytics that support annual planning decisions.

+ **Communication & Change Leadership:** In partnership with the planning and change management team, contribute to change management efforts when new coverage models or territory adjustments are rolled out.

+ **Performance Monitoring:** Define key success metrics for the annual planning decisions (e.g. sales coverage efficiency, growth in target segments, attainment vs. quota) and monitor these throughout the year. Provide regular updates to leadership on how well the current territory and coverage design is working, and recommend mid-course adjustments if needed.

**What We Look For in a Candidate**

+ **Education:** Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, or related field is required; Masters degree or MBA is **strongly preferred**

+ **Experience:** **8+ years of experience** in strategic planning, sales operations, business architecture, or a related discipline (telecommunications or high-growth tech environment preferred).

+ **Sales Planning Expertise:** Deep understanding of sales force organization and planning. Hands-on experience with designing sales territories, **developing coverage models, and setting segmentation strategy** is required.

+ **Analytical & Modeling Skills:** Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to build and interpret complex models. Proficiency in Excel and experience with planning or forecasting tools (e.g., Anaplan) to model scenarios and analyze data.

+ **Collaboration & Influence:** Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated **executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders**

+ Comfortable working in a **highly cross-functional, matrixed environment** to drive consensus on strategic decisions.

+ **Adaptability:** Experience working in a **fast-paced or transforming organization** , and comfortable navigating change.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ **Advanced Degree:** MBA or other relevant masters degree in business or strategy field

+ **Certification:** Professional certifications in change management or project management (Prosci, PMP, Six Sigma, etc.) are a plus, indicating ability to lead structured change initiatives

+ **Technical Tools:** Experience with sales analytics and planning software (such as Anaplan, Salesforce Analytics, etc.). Ability to leverage BI tools to extract insights from sales performance data.

**Compensation**

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

$149,084 - $198,779 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.

$156,539 - $208,718 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.

$163,993 - $218,657 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
